Look! I’m Idle!

Alright, this is going to be a quickie post.

I don’t know if you guys have ever faced the problem, but I often find myself wishing for some quiet surfing/working time on the net without being disturbed by people on Gtalk. Even if I set a status message saying that I’m not at the desk, the green dot gives me away. It would be so much easier if I could just be able to set my status as Idle!

That is exactly what gAlwaysIdle allows me to do! It adds three new options to gtalk in the systray, and now, you can set your status to idle! So there!

P.S. A friend pointed out that it is far more polite to just set your status as busy. But hey! I’m a geek!

P.P.S. Yes, I know, this is a windows post. But since I now work on windows, these posts are going to be appearing intermittently. If you use Pidgin to chat, you can set your status as idle in gtalk by simply choosing your status as Away in Pidgin. As always, Linux trumps all.
